Yiannis joined our firm as Senior Associate in 2014. He has significant experience in a wide range of contentious matters, focusing on international commercial litigation and corporate disputes, winding-up applications, breach of contract, product liability, competition law, construction and real-estate disputes and employment law claims.
He also represents clients in multi-jurisdictional cases which require the issuance of interim freezing and disclosure injunctions in management and corporate control disputes, derivative shareholders’ claims, breach of fiduciary duties claims, unlawful termination of distribution franchise and licensing agreements and complex banking litigation cases involving legal entities under liquidation or administration.
Yiannis is a member of our firm’s legal team which represents 284 shareholders and bondholders of the Cyprus Bank Public Co Ltd, in an action brought before the District Courts of Cyprus against the Republic of Cyprus, the Central Bank of Cyprus, the Restructuring Authority, the Special Administrator of the Cyprus Popular Bank Ltd and the Bank of Cyprus Public Co Ltd, regarding the decisions and acts of the above institutions for the implementation of the “bail-in” measures that were imposed by the Eurogroup, in March 2013.
Besides representing clients in court at all levels, he advises clients on commercial agreements and strategies to reduce their potential exposure to litigation.
Yiannis is a co-author of the Cyprus Chapter of “Competition Litigation 2012” published by International Comparative Legal Guides.
